Micronet - blowing technique

The Micronet concept, based on multi ducts and micro cables, is a very cost effective alternative compared with the traditional methods of installation of cables and ducts in an urban environment. The system offers great flexibility and scalability without the costs for further digging.

Target group
Installers who need to be able to use micro cable technology in connection with the installation of a scalable infrastructure. Network planners and owners with the intention of installing micro cable systems.

Qualifications
No previous qualifications required.

Objectives
On completion of the course the participant should be able to determine which combinations of micro cables can be used in particular micro ducts.
The participant should be able to blow micro cable into these ducts.
He/she will also know how to handle micro cable, and how the managing differs from traditional fiber cable. The course participant shall be able to out-branch a micro duct from a multi duct with an acceptable result. Furthermore, the course participant should also be able to determine the approximate length of the micro cable that can be blown in different situations and with different materials.

Course content

Splicing of ducts and out-branching of a micro duct from a multi duct

Demonstration of the blowing tool, its handling and maintenance

Blowing micro cable into a micro duct

Micro cable handling / Specific installation situations

Course duration
2 days. Theory combined with laboratory work.

Course certificate
After completion of the course the participant will receive a certificate specifying that the participant has knowledge of micro cable technology and is familiar with the handling of cables, ducts and equipment.
The certificate is issued by a qualified instructor.
